Launch of the Corner Cab range
The purpose of this press release is to publicise the launch
of a unique product: The Corner Cab
A world first

This product is designed & built in
England and is unique: no-one in the world has such a
product |
Background
When installing data cabling, the
installer often finds himself boxed into
a corner when he needs to establish
a distribution point and often has
to fit a network cabinet in the corner
of a room. This cabinet is always
square. This
beggars the question: "Why isn't there a
triangular network cabinet that will fit
neatly into the corner?" The
answer is: "There is no such thing as
a corner cabinet" ...Until Now
Concept
Surprisingly, no-one makes network
cabinets that will fit into a corner.
CabsRus has addressed the issue and has
now created the Corner Cabinet. The basic function of the cabinet is to fit into the available space.

First of a kind - The Corner cab:

Made in England
The Corner Cabinet is Made in England
Charline Auker [Sales & Marketing]: "This is a unique
product: no-one else is making them. So, we are hoping they
will prove a success. The Corner Cabs are being produced
in our manufacturing facility in the Midlands. So, as we
are all in the middle of a credit crunch, I'm very pleased
to confirm that the cabs will be Made in Britain - and always will
be."
Designed in England
The Corner Cabinet was Designed in England
Steve Gillis [Designer]: "I was sat in the corner
eating a Christmas Pie when I came up with this plum of an idea. In a nutshell, network
cabinets often have to be deployed outside of the 'system
room'. They are usually subsidiary cabs containing patch
panels and switches. Equally, for smaller sites, a single
cab is required but must reside in office space. So, I
thought, if these cabs keep ending up in a corner, why not have a
cab that neatly sits in this corner space? The principle of the network cabinet originated in the US and now, to a certain extent,
we're stuck with it. More and more equipment and
infrastructure elements is being produced in the 19 inch
rack mountable form so cabs are frequently being used as
distribution furniture in office space. They are
increasingly becoming multi-functional as they are housing
not only IT & Comms hardware but also audio visual, security
and electrical equipment. So the need for a cab that will blend in or be added with the minimum of impact is becoming paramount.
The corner cab is presented as an alternative to the
traditional square unit. The corner cab essentially
exists in two forms: small for distribution and large for
equipment & distribution. The larger cab is
stylishly designed as we would like to see it as a feature,
especially when housing AV equipment, rather than it being
hidden away. I know this is not the answer for all cab
usage and in many cases the installer may prefer to stick
with what he's used to but the corner cab does offer another solution and lets the installer
think outside of the box."
Original design concept drawing:

Use
The Corner Cabinet uses standard 19"
racking and is available in two forms:
small & large. It is also modular which
means it can be stacked to provide any U
size and cater for equipment
demarcation.
It is designed for use by installers of:
- CCTV
- Structured Cabling
- Telecommunications Systems
- IT
- Alarms & Security
- Nurse Call & Healthcare equipment
- General Electrical
Charline Auker [Sales & Marketing]:
"We are keen to support installers and see them as our key
market. We do have an on-line store that anyone can use but,
I think, that it's the installer that will spot the benefit
of the corner cabinet"
